Venita Treva Lee Long

Funeral service for Venita Treva Lee Long, age 89 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Verden First Baptist Church.  

Venita Treva was born the daughter of John Oscar Waters and Nellie Jackson Waters on January 30, 1929 in Vian, Oklahoma.  She died on April 23, 2018 in Chickasha.

Treva grew up in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and attended Watts School outside of Sallisaw.  She later moved to California where she met Kennard Long.  They were married on December 3, 1946 in Bakersfield, California.  She moved back to Sallisaw for ten years, then moved to Anadarko and spent the last twenty years in Chickasha. Treva was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Nellie Waters, her husband Kennard on September 29, 1992, five brothers, and five sisters.

Survivors include her eight children Kenneth and Marietta Long, Barbara and Steve Sandilous, Sondra Gerlt, Alpha Fitch, Wyota and Terry  Jensen, James Long, Glenda and Tommy Pendley, and Billy Long; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister Juaneve Bryant. 

Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery.  Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home

Veanna May Carr

Veanna May Carr, age 59, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 3rd, 2018, in Dallas Texas. She was born April 4th, 1958 to Angeline "Betty" and Leroy Carr in Victorville, California. She was a 1976 bicentennial graduate of Verdon High school and a Bachelor of Computer Science graduate from U.S.A.O. in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She pioneered a career in computer programming for 25 years building many lifelong bonds. She renovated, established and operated Oney Speedy Stop in Oney, Oklahoma. Enjoyed traveling and ventured as far as Scotland, Alaska and all across the United States. She passionately studied genealogy, loyally attended Covenant Redeemer Church in Carrollton, Texas and enjoyed many dinners and movies with friends. Veanna never met a stranger, was fun loving, friendly and caring. She was loyal and always eager to lend a helping hand. She was gracious and expressed her gratitude through acts of service by caring for those who had cared for her. She was outspoken, strong willed, determined and brave enough to take the first step toward any goal, while encouraging others to do the same. She is survived by her children: Art & Morgan Maldonado, Melina Maldonado and Jesenia & Jerrod Gosdin. She is loved by her grandchildren: Grant, Ford & Stella Gosdin, Benjamin Maldonado and her grandpup Wren. She is deeply missed by her "Texas Mom" Wanda Jones as well as many friends and her loving family: Leroy & Mary Carr, Donovan Carr, Paul & Robin Carr, Miranda & Jimmy Prince, Cassandra & Robert Black, Krystal & Skylur Britz and Travis & Racheal Carr. She is predeceased by Angeline "Betty" Carr, Teresa Carr and Jonathan Carr. Services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko, Oklahoma on Saturday April 7th 2018 at 2pm. All flowers and or cards can be delivered to McRay Funeral Home 110 S 8th St. Chickasha, Oklahoma 73018.
