Hazel Bettis Boyd

Funeral service for Hazel Bettis Boyd, 86, of Blanchard, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the McRay Funeral Home chapel.  Paul Bettis will officiate.

Hazel was born the daughter of John Sears and Edith Belle Kifer Sears on March 3, 1930 in Ada, OK.  She died on December 30, 2016 in Chickasha, OK.

Hazel was the youngest of nine children.  She graduated from Latta high school where she played basketball.  She enjoyed going to the lake in her earlier life.  Later in life she enjoyed going to her grandkids’ basketball games and livestock shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Edith Belle Sears; son Kenny Bettis; brothers Ted Sears, John Sears, Jim Sears, Fred Sears, Leo Vigus, Troy Vigus and Lloyd Vigus; and sister Lois Newell.

Hazel is survived by her daughter and husband Kathy Venable and Randy of Blanchard, OK; son and wife Dennis Bettis and Tonsi of Kingston, OK; grandson and wife Kevin and Brandy Venable of Blanchard, OK; grandson and wife Dusty Venable and Sara of Blanchard, OK; grandson and wife Brad Bettis and Julie of Bridgeport, TX; grandson Chad Bettis of Kingston, OK; grandson Kenny Bettis of Moore, OK; 13 great- grandkids and many nieces and nephews.


Barbara Cayton

Funeral service for Barbara Cayton, age 84 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Charles Watson will officiate.

Barbara was born the daughter of Jesse L. Flesher and Hazel Ellen Davis Flesher on November 2, 1932 in Kingman, Kansas.  She died on December 29, 2016 at her home in Chickasha.

Barbara moved to Chickasha at a young age and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1951.  She moved to Colby, Kansas where she met her husband Melvin Cayton whom she married in 1952.  They lived in Atwood, Kansas until 1988, then moved to Chickasha.  Barbara was one of the original employees of Sterling House where she worked for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Hazel Flesher; husband Melvin Cayton; two brothers Victor and Jimmy Flesher; sister Emma Lou Flesher.

Survivors include her daughter Pricilla Warrick of Chickasha; daughter Shirley Zimmerman of Oklahoma City; son Merlin Cayton of Burlingame, Kansas; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother Kenneth Flesher of Oklahoma City; sister Colleen Perdue of Oklahoma City.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery.  Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.


Fannie Jo McCurley

Funeral service for Fannie Jo McCurley, 84, of Newalla, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel.

Fannie Jo McCurley was born the daughter of  Frank Rhoades and Opal Baker Rhoades on September 16, 1932 in Love County near Burneyville, OK.  She died on December 16, 2016 in Newalla, OK.

Fannie lived in Marietta, OK until she married Arthur McCurley.  They lived in various places as they followed his military career.  They eventually moved to Chickasha where she worked for Pet Milk.  She was most recently living with her granddaughter in Newalla due to her health.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Opal Rhodes; husband Arthur McCurley; brother Lee Rhodes; sister Mildred Williams; son Arthur McCurley, Jr.; and daughter Patricia Harris.

Fannie is survived by her daughter Connie Newsom; daughter Opal Wyatt; sister Evelyn West; brother Gene Rhoades; sister Elaine Keeler; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.


Darrell Rodney Thompson

Darrell Rodney Thompson, 52, of Mead, OK was born the son of Harold Dean Thompson and Idella Sue Thompson on October 8, 1964 in Pampa, TX.  He died on December 8, 2016 in Mead, OK.

Darrell worked on the family farm and graduated from Ninnekah High School where he was active in the Ag Program.  After graduation he went to work for his father at Chickasha Tool and Maintenance. When his father retired Darrell purchased the business which he ran until recently when he turned it over to his son.  He has been married to his wife Pam for 24 years.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, motorcycles, classic cars and being at his cabin in the mountains.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father Harold Dean Thompson; son Tommy Allen Thompson; and paternal and maternal grandparents.

Survivors include his wife Pam Thompson; mother Sue Thompson; son and wife Russell and Erin Thompson; daughter Tammi Smith; granddaughters Madison Thompson and Kadence Thompson; sister Melinda Wilkinson; Niece Jaime Wilkinson and all of his “other kids.”

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.


Dwain Jones

Funeral service for Dwain Jones of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 in the First Assembly of God Church.

Dwain Jones was in the ministry for 55 years. He dedicated his life to preaching the gospel, serving others, raising funds for missions, orphanages, hospitals, feeding centers, and children with cleft palate. He served as the Light for the Lost National Director at the Headquarters in Springfield, MO for 8 ½ years. He was also the National Men’s Director. He loved being a part of the Chickasha community and was a member of the Rotary Club. He pastored churches in Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. He was the Pastor at First Assembly of God in Chickasha from 1984-1992. In 1992, God opened the door for missions where he spent the rest of his life raising funds for missions.

In Bangladesh, he helped start 5 churches, and now there are 600. He raised money to build a beautiful Bible School in Bangladesh and also churches, schools, and an orphanage. He raised funds to build a Bible School in Laos, Belgium, Ethiopia, and Kenya, Africa. Also, Bible Schools in Tonga, Fiji Island, Africa, Sri Lanka, Romania, Vietnam, Mexico, and South America. In Calcutta, India money was raised to repair the hospital. In 2015, over one million seventy five thousand came through the hospital and clinics. Each person was ministered to and told about Jesus. Because of the generosity, faithfulness, and support of people in the United States, and all around the world, Dwain Jones was instrumental in raising over one hundred seventy five million dollars for missions.

The family would like to thank all the people who have given, prayed, and supported his ministry throughout the years. Dwain Jones would say to each of you - "Thank You for Giving to the Lord!"

Survivors include wife Jeanne Jones of Chickasha; son Stephen Jones and wife Cheryl of Chickasha; daughter Tami Riker of Chickasha; granddaughter Keesha and husband Roy Williams of Chickasha; granddaughter Amanda Rodriguez of Chickasha; granddaughter Marcqui and husband Mike Parham of Chickasha; granddaughter Demi Riker of Elk City; grandson Chad Robnett of Chickasha; brother Glyn and wife Paula Jones of Greenville, TX; brother Kenneth and wife Jane Jones of Athens, TX; ten great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.


Timothy Allen McAdams

Funeral service for Timothy Allen McAdams, age 51 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 in the Holy Name Catholic Church.  Father Vara Prasad will officiate.

Timothy Allen was born the son of LeRoy McAdams and Beverly Dunn McAdams on March 9, 1965 in Chickasha.  He died on December 1, 2016 in Chickasha.

Tim graduated from Chickasha High School in 1983 and was a member of the marching band.  After graduation, he became co-owner of the Small Engine Service where he was the shop foreman.  He was a member of the Saturday Night Cruisers Car Club.
  
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elzie and Agnes Dunn; grandparents Herbert and Faye McAdams; dad LeRoy McAdams.

Survivors include mother Beverly McAdams of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Glenn Drewry of Chickasha; sister and brother-in-law DeAnna and Gilbert Copeland of Chickasha; niece Kimberly Copeland of Chickasha; nephew and niece Kyle and Caroline Trotter of Chickasha; great nephew and great niece Kyson and Kynzlee Trotter of Chickasha.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery.  Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.


 

Jane Ann Myers

Funeral service for Jane Ann Myers, age 61 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the First Presbyterian Church. 

Jane Ann was born the daughter of James Gassaway and Mary Stribling Gassaway on September 3, 1955 in Ft. Worth, Texas.  She died on November 30, 2016 in Chickasha.

Jane graduated from Chickasha High School in 1973.  She attended college at Oklahoma State University and Northeastern State University.  Jane lived in Texas for a few years before moving to Chickasha in 1995 to be near her mother.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father James Gassaway.

Survivors include her son Eric Meredith of Norman; son Charles Myers of Ninnekah; mother Mary Gassaway of Chickasha; brother Joe Gassaway of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren Kristina Meredith and Eric Dean Meredith. 

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery.  Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
