Juanita Jean Miller
Funeral service for Juanita Jean Miller, age 80 of Verden, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the Verden First Baptist Church. Rev. Troy Taylor will officiate.
Juanita Jean Miller was born on July 6, 1935 to Walter and Beulah Cox Unruh near Verden, Oklahoma.
She went to be with Jesus on January 31, 2016 at her home in Clinton, Oklahoma with her loving family surrounding her. She attended Sandlin School in her early years and then went to Verden Schools where she graduated in 1953.
She married her high school sweetheart Chris Miller on September 3, 1955 and raised three children. Some of the endeavors of her early life were working for the Boy Scout office in Chickasha, Pool Mortgage Company and the Wildlife Department at Lake Burtschi. She loved teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Verden, where she also enjoyed playing the organ. After her children were gone from home she started her own drapery and custom made bedding business.
They lived on a farm north of Verden until 1994 and then traveled with her husband Chris, to various construction sites in the state of Oklahoma. During this time she started taking oil painting classes and found her hidden talent of becoming a wonderful artist. She loved painting portraits of each of her seven grandchildren, and nature sceneries which her family proudly displays in their homes.
Her cooking talents was very popular with her grandchildren who continuously requested her famous peas and potatoes which she adored making for them when they came to visit. She had an exquisite eye for fashion and interior design. She was one of the most talented people to have lived. She could not only do it all, but excel at everything she laid her hands on. Everyone always valued her opinion in all areas of life.
She is survived by her husband Chris, daughter Diane and Doug Butler, of Anadarko, son Keith and Cathy Miller of Clinton, and son Kent and Dana Miller of Purcell. Eight grandchildren, Joe Hackney, Chickasha, Chris Miller, Clinton, Ok, Courtney Slover,Tuttle, OK, Whitney Miller, Mustang, OK, Ashley Harrison, Gracemont, OK, Kaleb Miller Clinton, OK, Kyleigh Miller, Mustang OK and Mason Agee of Purcell. Four great grandsons, Cooper Hackney, Rylend and Braylin Slover, and Langston Miller. sisters, Opal Layman and Dennis Beanland of Ridgedale, MO, Verda and Don Winn, Verden, and Lauri and Jackson McLane of Anadarko, OK, brother-in-law, Bob Miller and Pauline of Sulphur, OK, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Beulah Unruh, and sister Walley Coy.
Pallbearers: Joe Hackney, Chris Miller, Kaleb Miller, Matt Slover, Mark Layman and Darren Williams.
Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery. Service is under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
Donal Jerome Glass
Funeral service for Donal Jerome Glass, age 80, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Chickasha. Pastor Roy Mosier will officiate and Pastor Chuck Patterson will assist.
Donal Jerome Glass was born the son of Orval Jerome Glass and Elsie Mae Hutchens Glass on August 1, 1935 in Waldron, Arkansas. He died on January 29, 2016 in Chickasha.
Donal moved to Chickasha with his family at the age of 5 and attended Chickasha schools. At age 17 he began working for the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company sweeping floors and worked his way up to Production Manager. He married his wife Omega in October of 1959 and together they had three children. He worked at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company for 44 years and retired for medical reasons.
Donal was preceded in death by his parents Orval and Elsie Glass; sister Florene Shipley; and brothers Alford Glass and DeWayne Glass.
Donal is survived by his wife Omega Glass of the home; sister Agnes Kuhlman of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law Don and Shelly Glass of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Diane Glass of Peculiar, Missouri; daughter Brenna Goss of Midwest City; and grandchildren Hannah, Daniel, Rebecca and Casey.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
Richard Glenn Buchanan
Richard Glenn Buchanan, age 71, was born the son of Herbert Buchanan and Sarah Opal Line Buchanan on September 25, 1944 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He died on January31, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
Richard grew up north of Verden and graduated from Verden High School. He attended college at Oklahoma State University for one year. He owned a filling station and worked at various odd jobs before owning his own construction company.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Sarah Buchanan, one brother and an infant sister.
Richard is survived by his son Jerry Buchanan; daughter Lisa Ingram; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Tharp and brother Harold Buchanan.
Private graveside service in the Friendship Cemetery is under the direction of Mcray Funeral Home.
Muriel Marie Fuller Oliphant
Graveside service for Muriel Marie Fuller Oliphant, age 75 of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Carnegie Cemetery in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Brother Jim Tustison will officiate.
Muriel was born the daughter of Willie Aurther Fuller and Pansy Willie Hodo Fuller on July 8, 1940 in Harlingen, Texas. She died on January 29, 2016 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Muriel was married to Norman Oliphant on May 3, 1956 in Chickasha and together they had six children. During her lifetime she held several jobs in both the Chickasha and Carnegie areas. She worked in a grocery store and was a cook at Pups Drive-in in Carnegie, she worked at Southern Plains Clinic and was the bakery director at Lightner’s Grocery Store in Chickasha and she was the Dietary Manager at Carnegie Hospital and Carnegie Nursing Home. She had several hobbies and interests including cake decorating, canning, gardening, sewing and cooking. She was famous for her hot rolls and cinnamon rolls. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Pansy Fuller; husband Norman Oliphant; Daughter Brenda Lea; grandson Tyson Mills; son-in-law Eddie Bigbow; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Muriel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Galen and Susie Oliphant; son and daughter-in-law Terry and Ruth Oliphant; Daughter Kathy Bigbow; daughter and son-in-law Doris Poteet and George Temple; daughter Kim Jones; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters Dorthy Martin, Wanda Grubbs, Linda Curry and Ruth Maybry.
Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
Ealmer Robert Klippel
Funeral service for Ealmer Robert Klippel, age 81 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ron Babbit and Sam Garner will officiate.
Ealmer Robert was born the son of Henry Klippel and Hada Mason Klippel on February 19, 1934 in Pocasset, Oklahoma. He died on January 20, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Ealmer graduated from Tuttle High School then attended Oklahoma A & M for one year. He married Wanada Cruzan on January 12, 1954 in Tuttle. In 1956, he entered the United States Air Force. After returning from the Air Force in 1961, he joined the Highway Patrol. Ealmer served for twenty two years and the last two years he provided security for Lieutenant Governor Spencer Bernard. While in the patrol, he was instrumental in the founding of the Oklahoma State Troopers Association and served as the first president. After leaving the highway patrol, he was elected District 2 County Commissioner for Grady County and served fourteen years. Ealmer was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ, Lions Club, and other numerous boards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hada Klippel and one son, Keith Klippel.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty two years Wanada Klippel; son Robby Klippel; daughter and husband Becky and Noel Lambert; daughter and husband Sandy and Wayne Leu; granddaughter Stefanie Lee and Josh; grandson Dillan Leu and Ariel; grandson Colton Leu; grandson Chris Klippel; granddaughter Jennifer Klippel; several great grandchildren; three sisters Wanda and Jerry Sipe, Edith and Lex Pierce, and Hada Terrell.
Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery, Pocasset, OK. Services will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Charles Gene Phelps
Charles Gene Phelps, age 55, of Verden, Oklahoma was born the son of Charles Ray Phelps and Norma Jean Bivens Phelps on October 7, 1960 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He died on January 4, 2016 in Chickasha. No services are scheduled. However, there will be an opportunity for family and friends to come to McRay Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 1pm to 5pm to view pictures and memorial items. Mr. Phelps’ request was to be cremated.
Charles graduated from Verden High School after which he attended USAO where he graduated with his Bachelors Degree in business. He worked for Grady Memorial Hospital, Superior Federal Bank and finally the Best Western Hotel as manager. He loved music, art, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles Phelps.
Charles is survived by: his mother Jeannie Phelps; sister Donna Phelps and husband Daniel Crotts; brother Billy Phelps and wife Scotty; sister Marcie Roberson and husband Jarried; brother Ron Phelps; daughter Jessica Whitley and husband Jody; daughter Jackie Nunn and husband Shane; son Mark Nunn and wife Alex; grandchildren Sierra, Ashleigh, Clayton, Madison, Jasper, Averi and Ethan; great-grandchild Parkar; several nieces and nephews; one aunt and uncle, Judy and Ron Rogers.

Billy Clyde Stephenson
Memorial service for Billy Clyde Stephenson, age 79 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Jack Jerman will officiate.
Billy Clyde Stephenson was born the son of Elmer Amos Stephenson and Esta Faye Beene Stephenson on November 3, 1936 in Bradley, Oklahoma. He died on January 4, 2016 in Chickasha.
Billy Clyde grew up in Bradley, Oklahoma where he attended Bradley Schools. He married Mary Mozell Stewart on February 17, 1954 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. While his children were in school in Bradley, Bill served on the Bradley School Board for several years. He was a farmer in his earlier years. Bill began working as a service hand for B J Hughes Oil Company and worked his way up to district manager. He later worked as a company man for Davis Oil Company until the 1980's. After the oil bust in the 80's, he went to driving a truck for USPCI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. A. and Faye Stephenson and one sister, Jackie Sue.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Alice Stephenson of Alex; son and daughter-in-law Rodney and Becky Stephenson of Cox City; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Ken Stretch of Okay; daughter and son-in-law Dana and Bill Callahan of Amber; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; one great great grandchild; numerous other family members.
Interment of cremains will be held in the Alex Cemetery at a later date. Service is under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Leona Bottoms, age 81, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 in the McRay Funeral Home chapel. Dr. Bryan Haynes officiated.
Leona Bottoms was born on June 24, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was called home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2016.
Leona was a long time resident of Chickasha. She worked 30 years for Maremont and 10 years at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Leona was preceded in death by: husband Robert Bottoms; grandmother Lydia Hickman; father Royal "Bill" Owens; mother Dessie Owens; brother Robert Ashley; sister Christine Adair; Uncle Ben Hickman; two granddaughters Rebecca Bottoms and Jennifer Bottoms; and many other family and friends.
Leona is survived by: four children Richard Bottoms, James Bottoms, Sharon Kirk and Linda Eckinger; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services were under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
