Lillian Doris Morgan

Funeral service for Lillian Doris Morgan will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Bible Baptist Church. Rev. Kim Hayes will officiate.

Lillian was born March 12, 1927 in Prague, OK. She arrived in heaven and met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 1, 2016.

Lillian graduated from Minco High School. She then married Sammy Morgan on November 12, 1947. Sam was Lillian’s care giver in her later years until he could no longer do so.

Lillian’s pride and joy was maintaining a Christian household for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She loved going to church, reading and memorizing scripture, and spent many hours praying for her loved ones and others.

Her hands were always busy. She enjoyed planting a large garden and canning the products of it. She kept a very clean house and every meal she cooked through the week was like a Sunday after church dinner. Neighbor kids would even come around about 5:00 pm in the evening wanting to eat at her table. Lillian worked for Bell Telephone Company and the OCW student union. She was also a podiatrist assistant. In her later years, she took art lessons and became a very good artist.

Lillian’s sweet smile, motherly care and concern for others, and her Judeo Christian values and attitudes about God, country, family, and work ethic will be missed by her family, neighbors, church, and friends. Mom was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. When faced with life’s trials she turned to Christ and His word instead of the worlds remedies.

Family and friends of Lillian are very thankful to Shanoan Springs Nursing Home employees, Faith Hospice, Grady Memorial Hospital employees, and Bible Baptist Church family for taking good care of Lillian (mom) the last one and a half years of her life.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents Clarence T. Guinn and Euma Elam; her brother Leslie Guinn and one great-grandson Landry Morgan.

Survivors include her husband and longtime care giver Sammy Morgan of Chickasha;

Her son Mike Morgan and his wife Wanda of Boerne, TX and their children Mike, Jr., his wife Tiffany and children Cole and Jacob; Clinton and his wife Kimberley and children Liberty, Lainey and Tanner; Sareca Kistler and her husband John Kistler and child Morgan Kistler.

Her daughter Karen Monk of Norman and her children Matt Bray and his wife Jennifer and their children Savannah and Lillie; Joshua Monk and his wife Cassie and child William and one on the way; and Sarah and Christian Monk. Her daughter Sharon Ray and her husband Greg of McLoud, OK and their children Christopher Ray, Kara McCullah and her husband Justin and their children Karlee and Jaycee.

Her son Lonnie Morgan and his wife Mae of Chickasha and their children Paul and Lydia.

Her son Larry Morgan and his wife Kim of Choctaw, OK and their children Stephanie and her husband Russell Davis and their child Violet; and Kelly and her fiancé Steven Clarke.

Her sisters Dolly Garrett and Betty Zieset; her brother Sonny Meeks and many nephews and nieces.

Our greatest hope and comfort now is I Cor 15 and I Thes 4:13-18. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
