Sep 1, 1932 — Feb 12, 2022
Betty Lou Graham Koenig
Graveside service will be on Tuesday, February 15,2022 at 2 pm at the Verden Cemetery under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
Betty Lou Graham Koenig was born to Homer Rollie Bartlett and Mary Glee (Cowling) Bartlett on September 1,1932 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma and gained her angel wings on February 12,2022 in Chickasha, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness. She was 89 years old.
While attending business school in Oklahoma City she met and married Donald Graham and to this union three children were born, Jimmie Ray, Frank Linn and Johnny Darrell. She was a fulltime mother and homemaker involved in her sons activities including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H and FFA. She always had a large garden and canned vegetable to share with friends and family. She loved to cook and no one ever went away hungry. She went to work at Maremont/Gabriel Ride and worked for 21 years retiring in 1987. She married Samuel Koenig in April 1986, moving back to Verden at that time. Family vacations to Colorado with trout fishing was one of her favorite things. She loved her cats and adopted all the strays and named them and fed them all. Everyone knew that she would take care of any strays. She cherished her family and they were the light of her life and that is what she lived for.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Frank of Verden, Johnny and Cindy of Verden. Grandchildren Jason and Angela of Colorado, Steven and Sue of Chickasha, John and Christy of Texas, Randy and JoAnn of Texas, Stephanie and Nolan of Verden, and Ryan and Krista of Chickasha. Great grandchildren Braydon, Jaylyn, Haley, Brandon, Keegan, LaCrysta, Jonathan II, William, Daniel, Magen, Clara, Bryceton, Devyn, and one great great granddaughter Susan. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel, son Jimmie, and grandsons Keith and Eric.
We would like to thank the nurses and direct care givers at Shanoan Springs Nursing Home and Kindful Hospice for the loving care they gave our mom.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Childrens Center Rehabilitation Hospital in her name in lieu of flowers.
