Carolyn Sue (Hannah) Slaton

Funeral service for Carolyn Sue Slaton, 80, of Chickasha, OK will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Brinkman will officiate.

Carolyn Sue (Hannah) Slaton was born the daughter of R.B. (Slim) and Mary Hannah on December 10, 1944 in Chickasha, OK.  She died on April 19, 2025 in Chickasha surrounded by her family.

Carolyn grew up in Amber, Oklahoma and graduated from Amber High in 1964.  She worked for a while at Southwestern Bell Telephone as a switch operator, Shannon Springs Nursing Home, Maremont, and finally a Private Duty Home Care Giver.  Thurman and Carolyn Hannah were married on August 14, 1965 in Amber and were married for 53 years. She and her family lived in many places as they followed Thurman's work in the oilfield, but they always kept their house in Chickasha, which they still call home.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thurman Slaton; parents R.B. (Slim) and Mary Hannah; sister Mary Jo Bird; brothers Richard, Donald, and John Roy Hannah.

Carolyn is survived by one sister, Barbara Hunt of Muskogee, Ok; Sister in law Bonnie Hannah of Kansas City, MS; and Brother in law Don Bird of Bridge Creek, Ok; her four children, son and wife Russell and Tracy Slaton of Amber, OK; son and wife DeWayne and Betty Slaton of Ninnekah, Ok; daughter and husband Kathy and Scott LeDoux of Watauga, TX; daughter and husband Tammie and Roman Cajero of Mustang, OK; granddaughter Natalie LeDoux of Watauga, TX; granddaughter and husband Mallory and Brandol Loyd of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren Chance, Paige, and Jonah Bennett of Mustang, OK; granddaughter and husband Jennifer and Donald Jones of Amber, OK; grandson and wife Brandon and Stacie Slaton of Blanchard, Ok; granddaughter and husband Hannah and Aaron Vardasebi of OKC, Ok; grandson Brett Slaton of Stillwater, Ok; great-grandchildren Tavion and Kemiah Slaton of Amber, Ok; Kennedy Slaton and Aldren Browning of Blanchard, Ok; and great-grandchildren Aiden and Addison Vardasebi of OKC, Ok.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. Special thanks go to Lifeline Hospice and Cottonwood Creek Nursing and Rehab for the outstanding care they provided.
