Charlene Boevers

Funeral services for Charlene Boevers will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Kim Hayes will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Charlene Boevers was born April 17, 1934, in Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, to Clayton and Elsie (Smith) Davis. She passed away on June 10, 2025, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, at the age of 91.

Charlene was raised in the Pocasset, Amber, and Minco areas of Oklahoma. She spent her earliest years five miles west of Minco. Her name and that of her twin sister, Marlene, were lovingly chosen by grade school children who submitted name suggestions for the twins. She began her education at Burr Oak School and graduated from Amber High School. Charlene experienced deep loss when her beloved twin sister Marlene was tragically killed in a car accident in 1969.

Charlene was first married to Bobby Morris, and together they welcomed three children: Brenda, Mike, and Shelia. Later in life, Charlene found lasting love with Don Boevers. She and Don shared 15 wonderful years together, building a life centered around their farm and the family they deeply cherished. Their time together was filled with love, hard work, and the simple joys of country living, until his passing.

Although Charlene held various jobs in the Chickasha area throughout her life, the role she treasured most was that of a devoted homemaker, dedicating many years to lovingly caring for her family.

Charlene had a deep love for schnauzer dogs and enjoyed spending her afternoons watching her favorite soap operas—fondly referred to as her "stories." She was also a dedicated fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team. Every Friday, she looked forward to getting her hair done, taking pride in looking her best for Sunday church services.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Elsie Davis; her daughter Shelia Brownen; her siblings Wilma Davis Ferrell and JE, Aliene Davis Hines and JB, Herbert F. Davis and Jean, Charles Davis and Betty, Arneta Davis Brown and Quinton "Charlie," and her twin sister Marlene Davis Underwood and Fred.

Charlene is survived by her daughter Brenda Morris; son Mike Morris; grandson Travis Boevers and wife Amber, along with their children Cade and Bryce Boevers; grandson Cody Boevers and wife Melony, along with their children Austin and Baylee Boevers; granddaughter Mika Darnell and Joey, along with their children Kenley and Kelton Darnell; and numerous cousins and extended family members.

Charlene will be remembered for her warmth, her resilience, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through those who knew and cherished her.
