Clarence Cecil Lowrey, Jr. was born on February 9, 1947 in Anadarko, OK, at home during a snowstorm, to his parents Clarence Cecil Lowrey, Sr. and Mabel Ila Lowrey. He attended school in Chickasha, OK. He left school to join the Navy at the age of 17 where he obtained his GED while serving his country for 2 ½ years. He came home to Chickasha and began working for Purdue Housing. After a while his mom told him he needed to get another job, so jokingly, he applied and joined the Chickasha Police Department where he worked for 10 years and made the rank of Lieutenant. He married the love of his life, Linda and began his new career in the oilfield. He worked for Well Tech-Key Energy and Key Mid Con as safety director for 16 years. He moved positions to Hamm & Phillips Stride Well Service in Lindsay for 20 years. He retired from the oilfield where he, Linda and Hailey made their home in Cement. He passed away on January 26, 2022 after a long battle with cancer with the love of his life by his side.
Clarence was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers, one sister and one son.
He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; his best buddy Billy Frizell of Cement; son David and Mellisa of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Courtney Shaw, Shelia Smith, Caitlin Adams and Noah Lowrey; two sisters Bertha Gamber and Lila Munn; great-grandchildren Hailey, Madison, Brooke, Grayson, Carson and Jameson; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.
Thank you to Kindful Hospice for all you do! The casket will be open only at the service with cremation to follow. The cremains will be interred at Fort Sill National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.
