Obituary

Darrell Wayne Hickman

Funeral service for Darrell Wayne Hickman, 65, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Ninnekah Church of Christ, 608 Old Hwy 277, Ninnekah, Oklahoma 73067.  Thomas Wood will officiate.

Darrell and his wife Diane were married on May 1, 1976 in Bradley, Oklahoma.  They raised three boys–Bruce, Darrell Gene and Lee.  Darrell was a hard worker and a great provider for his family.  He was the owner and operator of D.H. Dozer out of Chickasha, Oklahoma.  When he wasn't working he enjoyed fixing up older muscle cars and riding his Harley with his boys along side, or camping at the lake with his family.  He got joy out of pulling the grandkids on the tube just to watch them fly off.  If you caught him at home he was rocking on the back porch or working in his shop.  He liked going to car shows and won 1st place many times.  He was a very simple man that would do anything for his family and friends.  He was definitely a man of his word who loved his wife and family–and that dog, GiGi.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father L.D. Hickman; mother Anna Doloris Hickman; son Darrell Gene Hickman; granddaughter Heather Marie Hickman; and three brothers Danny Hickman, Randy Hickman and Terry Hickman.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 48 years Diane Hickman; two sons Bruce Anderson and Lee Hickman; three sisters, Sharren Holland, Lorri Clark and Brenda Hassler; brother Jerry Hickman; seven grandkids Ashlyn Anderson, Chance Anderson, Shayla Anderson, Heath Hickman, Tanner Hickman, Gentri Hickman and Dani Hickman; nine great-grandkids; a baby girl on the way; and his beloved sidekick GiGi–his dog.

Pall bearers are Chance Anderson, Heath Hickman, Tanner Hickman, Sean Day, Austin Unruh and Lee Butcher.

Viewing will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00am to 7:00pm at McRay Funeral Home, 110 S. 8th Street, Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in the Greenhill Cemetery on 100th Street, Lindsay, Oklahoma.
