Joyce Cerica
Moudy
Jan 22, 1940 — Jun 2, 2025
Joyce Cerica (Williams) Moudy
With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Cerica (Williams) Moudy. She will be profoundly missed by everyone whose life she touched. While none of us were ready to lose her, we find comfort knowing she is finally free from the limitations and pain of her earthly body.
Joyce was born on January 22,1940 in Kiowa County to Walter and Verna (Carroll) Williams, and with her loving family gathered around her in her home near Cement, OK she ascended to heaven on June 2, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and five of her six siblings, her children's fathers, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is survived by her sister and best friend, June Williams of Hobart, OK. All five of her loving children: daughter and her husband, Deana and Keith Hollowell of Cement, her daughter and her partner, Kim Williams and Lynn Dale Smith, of Chickasha, her son, Rodney Peters of Cement, her son and his wife, Justin and Suzanne Moudy of Verden, her son and his partner Chad Moudy and Kaye Lind of Huntington Beach, CA. There are fifteen of us grandkids that were blessed to be loved by her, and there are twelve Great grand kids lucky to be a part of her legacy, and one great-great grandchild, and one more who is soon to be born.
Joyce was an avid bird watcher, and fantastic gardener. She was a creative person with talents in landscape design, floral arranging, and interior design. She accomplished much in her life. Her talents for design earned her home a stop on the tour of homes one year. Her and her husband owned several successful businesses in Verden, and Chickasha. She was a gifted novice poet, and a brilliant joke and storyteller. Her smile made you smile too, and her laughter was always at the ready and the most contagious of them all. If you were lucky enough to be one her 'grands' you knew true unconditional love. She was many things to us as children, and that carried through into adulthood. As we have been mourning her together as a family it has surprised us all to find out that she was a confidant for many of us. We shared many things with her that were private, and she always instinctively knew if we just needed her to listen or if we needed advice. She celebrated our victories and encouraged us to try again in defeat. Her love brought us confidence, joy, and the reassurance that we belonged. Her door was always open, and the shelter of her love was one of our greatest treasures. Her legacy will live on within us and continue to change this world for the better with each generation.
Her service will be held on Saturday June 7th, 2025, at 2:00pm at Chickasha Life Church, 601 W Grand Ave, Chickasha, OK with Scott Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at Laverty Cemetery SW of Chickasha. The services are being handled by McRay Funeral Home. Joyce was a life-long supporter of St Jude's Children's Medical research foundation if you prefer to donate in lieu of flowers.
