Marla Ann
Sanders
Oct 27, 1963 — Jul 4, 2025
Marla Ann Sanders
Marla Ann Sanders was born on October 27, 1963, to Lowell "Andy" Anderson and Mary (Perdue) Anderson. Her early years were spent in various places as the family moved frequently, eventually returning to Verden, Oklahoma, to be near her mother's family. Marla attended elementary school in Verden, then began high school in Ninnekah, Oklahoma, where she met the man who would become the love of her life. The family later moved to Greeley, Colorado, where Marla completed her high school education. After graduation, they returned once again to Verden. She took business courses while working diligently in various fast-food establishments. She was known for her strong work ethic, warm heart, and enduring love for her family and friends.
Marla had two children from an earlier marriage. Though the marriage didn't work out, she devoted herself fully to raising her boys. During that time, she reconnected with Bobby Sanders, who had two children of his own—a son and a daughter. They quickly became inseparable, and with Bobby, Marla found the family she had always dreamed of. The couple married on July 5, 1993, and for 32 years remained devoted to one another. Marla was the heart and guiding force of their family.
Once the children were grown, Marla pursued a successful career in business bookkeeping. She worked for Hess Oil in Chickasha for several years, later joined Love's Country Stores, and eventually completed her career at Piper Oilfield Supply. She approached her work just as she did her family life—with dedication and integrity.
Marla bravely fought a year-long illness that kept her hospitalized much of the time as her physical strength declined. She passed peacefully on July 4, 2025, with Bobby by her side, holding her hand as the Lord called her home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Anderson; her mother, Mary Anderson; and her brother, Timothy Anderson. Marla is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Sanders; and her children: Brenton Sanders of Minco, Oklahoma; Rebecca (Sanders) Coon of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Chase Sanders of The Village, Oklahoma; and Bobby Sanders Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Zoey, Caydence, and Augustus Sanders of Crowell, Texas; Maggi, Stevi, and Charli Coon of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Donnie and Lucas Sanders of Edmond; and Beau Sanders of The Village, Oklahoma—as well as a host of dear friends and extended family.
A chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9th, at the McRay Funeral Home in Chickasha. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, Oklahoma.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the many prayers and support shown over the past year. Your kindness meant the world to them—and to Marla.
