 Mona Wilda Stephens-Huff

Mona Wilda Pepper was born February 10, 1934, to Andrew Newell and Mamie Rilla Pepper in Enochs, Texas. She was the oldest of three children. She went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2026.

When she was a child, the family moved from West Texas to Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to start a dairy. After high school, she attended Tyler Commercial College in Tyler, Texas, where she obtained a diploma in Secretarial Science. While in Tyler, she met Lin Stephens, who had just been discharged from the Navy. They were married on December 24, 1954. They then embarked on an adventure surveying in Canada.

After returning to the U.S., they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where Lin began school at Oklahoma A&M and graduated from Oklahoma State University. To their union were born two sons: Greg in 1957 and Mark in 1965.

In 1971, Lin and Mona started Stephens Oil Company in Chickasha, where she served as secretary/treasurer. In 2007, after 52 years of marriage, Lin went to be with the Lord.

In 2014, Mona reconnected with a friend from her time in Tyler, Texas—Charles Huff. They eventually married on February 13, 2015. They enjoyed 11 years together prior to her passing.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; brother Gary; sister Jennifer; first husband Lin; and grandson Brett.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; son Greg (Paula); and son Mark (Leslie). She was "Mamaw" to grandchildren Brian, Brett, Kolbi, and Kollin, and great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing are Charles' children: Chuck (Patty Ann), Carl (Debbie), Casey (Beth), and Lisa (Jim).
