Shiela Garvin Cain passed peacefully on Thursday, December 15th, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Shiela was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James and Pat Garvin on May 21st, 1953. Shiela was the youngest of James and Pat's children and had a natural artistic ability from a very young age. After graduating in 1971 from Western Heights High School she moved to Hawaii. She returned to Oklahoma City and quickly moved on to her next adventure in Rada Tilly, Argentina. She returned to Oklahoma and packed up her car for San Diego, California. A few short years later, she returned to her home base in Oklahoma. She realized that she was ready for her next chapter in life and moved to Oak Harbor, Washington where she lived for the next 16 years until again returning to Oklahoma City with her daughter. Shiela made Oklahoma City her final home in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Dianne McCall and her mother, Pat Garvin. Shiela leaves behind  a loving daughter, Laura Martell, who she said was her greatest accomplishment, a son in law, Tom Connelly, who she adored and one granddaughter, Lily Jones, Sheila's father, James Garvin, brother, James "Duane" Garvin and wife, Carol Garvin, along with nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Shiela also leaves behind her beloved Rottweiler, Boris.

While Shiela is no longer of this earth, her legacy lives on in her surviving family and art. She was an accomplished wildlife artist who enjoyed painting and all forms of art and crafting. She also loved photography, gardening, spending time with her family and attending horse shows, art events and spending time with her dog. She was the best daughter, mother and friend anyone could ask for. Now at peace and with her sister and mother, she will be missed.
