 Walter Glen Keen

Memorial service for Walter Glen Keen, age 85, will be held at 11:00am, Monday, July 27, 2026 at Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha. GG Music and Jack Jerman will officiate.

Walter Glen Keen, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  He was born in Denton, Texas on September 10, 1940 and was raised in Gainesville, Texas. At two days after his 18th birthday, he married the love of his life, 16 year old Glenda Evans.  Glenda was perpetually by his side for all of their 67 happy years together.

Walter began a law enforcement career in Denton in 1963, at age 22, working for the Denton Police Department his entire career.  He worked his way up to the rank of Lieutenant, and was a highly respected supervisor amongst his men and fellow officers.  He happily retired early at the age of 50, and started his own large acreage mowing business, running two tractors.  He loved his tractors and often joked that he could remember the day his first granddaughter was born because it was the day he bought his new tractor.  He and Glenda also had horses and cattle for many of their years and raised their daughters in the country, north of Denton.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter O and Jane Keen, and his son-in-law, Dwayne Waters.  He is survived by his wife, Glenda; daughter Joanna and GG Music, all of Chickasha; daughter Lisa and Alan Morris of Flower Mound, Texas; and grandchildren Clint and Emily Music, Cody Music, and Blair Hitch, step-granddaughter Mallie Cunningham; and great grandsons, Ethan and Luke Music.

The service is under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
