 Wanada Elizabeth Klippel 

Funeral service for Wanada Elizabeth Klippel, age 90 of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ron Blankinship will officiate.

Wanada was born the daughter of Lee and Bernice Cruzan on October 31st, 1935, in Tuttle, Oklahoma. She died on May 9, 2026, in Chickasha. Wanada graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Tuttle High School in 1953. She then obtained her Bachelor of Science in Education from the Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chickasha. She was very proud of herself for maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She married Ealmer Klippel on January 12, 1954, in Tuttle. Wanada taught full-time for Chickasha Public Schools for a few years before "retiring" to substitute teach for many more years. Wanada loved to sew and take care of her family. She was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ealmer Klippel; parents, Lee & Bernice Cruzan; one son, Keith Klippel; two brothers, D.A & Steve Cruzan; and three sisters, Betty Heldenbrand, Ava Cummings, and Peggy Parish.

Survivors include daughter Becky Lambert; daughter and husband Sandy and Wayne Leu; granddaughter Stefanie Durham and Scott Wood; grandson Dillan Leu and Sunshine Davis; grandson and wife Colton & Laura Leu; grandson Chris Klippel; granddaughter Jennifer Laycox; several great grandchildren including one she had a special relationship with, Judah Leu and newest addition Gracen Leu; sisters Lora Collins and Joy Hardesty; and close friend and puzzle buddy Wanda Francis.

The family would like to thank Brookdale Assisted Living staff and residents for making her last years comfortable and enjoyable, and Lifeline Health Care for taking good care of her.

Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery, Pocasset, OK. Services will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Oaks Food Room where she volunteered for many years, Southern Oaks Church of Christ, 3320 S. 16th Street, Chickasha, OK 73018.
